Growing AME Jobs.


Present days, its difficult to find a career that offers you with such a job satisfaction, reputation and where you also learn something new every day. However, if you are thinking to go for aircraft maintenance engineer(AME) as your careen in aviation, then it's a very nice option but you also keep in mind, that you will be doing just AME only, as after this course there will be very less chances for anyone to get job in any other field except aviation. (refer Article- career)  About AME, as today number of planes in almost every country is rising rapidly, and these planes cannot fly without the assistance of an AME. So, practically if we see, not only passenger depend upon AMEs, but also these organisations operating them depend on us, their employees. Travel via air is in great demand and this industry has become a huge part of  world's economy, so jobs are also very much in demand for AMEs.

People mostly know about the pilots or flight attendents as they see them around them while travelling flying aircraft and serving them respectively and many people have no idea, who AMEs are. Mostly people thought that mechanical/electrical engineers maintain aircraft, they do not know that special course are available in AME avionics and mechanical and therefore the career of an aircraft maintenance engineer is often overlooked.Yet, this career in growing as there are less new AMEs with experience. Liscenced AMEs are also paid very nice packages for the job. In this position you will also be faced with some of the most cutting-edge technology out there that will help you look over and check each aircraft before it's allowed to fly in the skies. Once you train in this position, you can pretty much pick and choose where in the world you want to work and for which airline due to the high demand.

Training

Becoming an aircraft maintenance engineer is no easy task. You’ll need to take aviation courses that will deliver all the key training needed to work on these giant machines. You will also need to learn how to diagnose and fix any problems these planes may have. Once you finish your training, you will receive a license that can be used in many countries. For instance, if you train in Australia, that same license will be accepted in India, Canada and New Zealand. The majority of aircraft maintenance engineer positions are full-time ones that also pay above average earnings. Once your training is complete, the unemployment rate for this career is extremely low

Responsibilities
As a AME you are responsible for any aircraft you sign to fly. But before permiting any airplane to go in air you have to test its systems, check pilot defect records for previous flight for any defect and if any defect if found, to rectify it and check its functioning. Dismentaling & repairing equipments and then putting it back at its place in aircraft. AMEs in avionics will re responsible for eletrical/instruments/radio navigation system. You have to check all communication systems, proper power supply to all equipments, carry out pre flight inspections as per the tasks cars of the aircrafts. AMEs in mechanical stream will check all systems for engine and airframe.
Additionally, you will need to keep detailed records of everything you've done so a clear history of the aircraft is always available. The safety of everyone aboard, both the flight crew and the passengers relies on you and the work that you do.

Qualities of an AME
For this as you career you need to possess a combination of qualities. Some of the skills needed to excel are: excellent communication skills (both listening and speaking), excellent problem solving skills, an attention for detail, excellent time management skills, good decision making skills, and good hand-eye coordination, a knack for repairing and systems analysis and good reading comprehension.
AME career is mainly for those people who just want to be only in aviation industry and explore their life in latest technology.
