Aerogulf Services will be the first operator in the region and one of the first in the world to operate the AW609 Tiltrotor.
The Tiltrotor is the result of a number of high-technology developments that have allowed the manufacturer to combine the vertical take-off and landing capabilities of a helicopter with the high-speed capability and efficiencies of a conventional airplane.
The AW609 will travel at twice the speed of most conventional helicopters and have twice the range, with a maximum cruising speed of 275 knots (509 km/h) and 700+nm range (possibly achieving 1,000nm with long-range tanks installed).
